Dr. Powell graduated from Rice University in Houston, Texas with a degree in Bioengineering. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
Dr. Powell went on to complete his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California (2009-2013).
Dr. Powell then completed fellowships in Surgical Pathology and in Hematopathology at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. He served as Chief Resident in Anatomic Pathology, also at Stanford.
Dr. Powell currently holds full medical licensure in the states of California and Nevada and is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology.
Over the years, Dr. Powell has developed extensive professional and hospital experience. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Nevada at Reno and the Director of Hematopathology. He is a staff pathologist at Western Pathology.
Dr. Powell has authored and co-authored four peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals and has presented numerous times at scholarly and academic meetings and conferences.
